INDIRA SCOTT
Indira

HardCOPY: Where did you get scouted?
Indira Scott: I was scouted a couple times before I finally said yes. It happened all over the city, but it finally happened when my sister and I were scouted while working at the Reformation store in NYC. It was by a boutique London agency called Anti-Agency, which will always hold a dear place in my heart for introducing me to this world that has forever changed my life.
HC: Modelling in 2025 vs Instagram vs AI avatars – what’s your take?
Indira: I’m here for it all!!! I’ve always been into expansion as long as there’s still always a place/respect for tradition. I also think AI doesn’t scare me as a concept; however, as an environmentalist, I wish it was more sustainable for sure.
HC: What’s your off-duty uniform?
Indira: My off-duty outfit is pretty chill, cozy and baggy. As a Queens-born-and-raised girl, it’s practically my birthright. But there’s always something that stands out in a subtle, thoughtful way, like an archival piece or a good texture or fabric. I’d say my style sits somewhere between Chloë Sevigny and Justin Bieber.
HC: What’s been your ‘pinch-me’ moment so far, career wise?
Indira: I’d say my ultimate ‘pinch-me’ moment has been the amount of times I’ve had the chance to work with Vogue across different mediums. I’ll never forget being a little girl, feeling like Vogue was this superpower of the world. Now, being part of it – and knowing I can inspire others simply by showing up and expressing myself – is something I’ll never get used to.

HC: Dream collab, who would make you say yes before they finish asking?
Indira: It would be a campaign with Miu Miu or Chloé. But my ultimate dream? To have been one of Alexander McQueen’s muses. I feel like we would’ve understood each other and what we stand for in this industry: unconventional individuality thriving amidst adversity.
HC: When you’re not running to castings or airports, what’s your actual life like?
Indira: When I’m not busy being an international model, I’m spending my time in sound healing – either basking in it and practicing my craft or sharing it with others. Giving others sound baths is one way I tune my own frequency while also giving back to the human collective, and it leaves me feeling so energised. Being a Gemini, I’m always exploring some new craft for no reason other than to learn. Right now, I’m obsessed with silver soldering, and it’s so much fun.
HC: If modelling wasn’t your path, what alternate universe version of you would we be meeting?
Indira: If I wasn’t modelling, I would’ve already had my hands on film in some way. I’ve always been passionate about screenwriting and directing, but I knew I’d chase that path after having my fun in my twenties. So far, everything’s going according to plan!
HC: Last thing you googled? Last thing you listened to?
Indira: Last thing I searched on Google: Is it possible to perfectly simulate the entire universe down to every atom? Last thing I listened to: Lofticries by Purity Ring.
HC: What’s a fashion trend you secretly love… or hate?
Indira: I secretly love the colour butter yellow. It flatters my complexion so well, and I’m so happy it’s having its moment. A fashion trend I HATE is Labubu. For the love of God, make it stop.
HC: What’s your ‘I don’t share this’ order?
Indira: Hmmm I don’t have anything… I share everything.
HC: Best (or worst) piece of advice you’ve ever been given in the industry?
Indira: The best advice I’ve been given is to have good discernment and diplomacy – knowing when to strike while the iron’s hot, when to speak up, when to stay quiet, when to have fun, when to be bold, and even when to take a break, because timing can make or break the longevity of your career. The worst advice I’ve been given is to just conform and do what the ‘no-sayers’ want. This advice usually comes from people only concerned with money or fame, but for me, it’s always been about legacy, quality, and making an impact. That will never change.
HC: Who’s on your current moodboard? (People, brands, icons, crushes).
Indira: My current mood board is a mix of icons, creatives, and style influences: Gwen Stefani, Martha Stewart, Nikki Giovanni, Devon Aoki, Virgil Abloh, Carrie Mae Weems, Jordan Peele, Shonda Rhimes; brands and designers like Grace Wales Bonner, Marni, Jonathan Anderson, Daniel Lee; and crushes like Taylor Russell, Kristen Stewart, and Tyriq Withers hahaha.
HC: Something interesting we need to know about you?
Indira: Fun fact: I’ve been a humanitarian and a rebel from a young age. I was largely raised by my grandma Carol, who practiced a Quaker lifestyle and served as a nurse in the Vietnam War. Speaking up and creating positive change in the face of adversity is a sport to me. That’s why, no matter how many ‘no’s’ I get, I keep pushing for what I believe in. I’ve always been inspired by the trailblazers in fashion who carve their own paths and introduce new ideas with grace and style. They command the world’s attention while staying chic.
HC: What’s the weirdest casting or shoot you’ve ever done?
Indira: Honestly, I can’t think of anything particularly weird I’ve done. If anything, I’d love to get more experimental in my work! I’m usually the ‘natural, simple girl’ on set, which is flattering, but I’m definitely ready to have some fun. An honourable mention, though, has to be our Vogue Adria shoot, where we incorporated oversized vegetables and cutlery into the outfits and somehow made it chic. It was such a vibe. [Laughs]
